Motiv8 was founded in April 2017 by myself, Peter Cockett after being made redundant by my previous employer Sue Ryder. I worked there as an Activity Support worker where I facilitated various groups for disabled people (all inclusive). After working tirelessly getting the groups up and running I thought it would be a shame to let them go by the wayside, so that is how Motiv8 started.

Motiv8 started as a social enterprise, but since September 2017 has become a Community Interest Company ( not for profit) and has been registered with Companies House and has its own Company Number. Motiv8 relies entirely on funding and donations. The funding has to be applied for and Motiv8 is trying many sources, so far Motiv8 has received £1090.00 from South Yorkshire Community Foundation for the purchase of a new laptop, tablet and a high quality camera as well as promotional flyers and pop up banners. A £500.00 donation from the company McCarthy and Stone who are building the retirement homes in Bawtry, and £100.00 from SES (Specialist Engineering Services of Harworth. Without these grants and donations Motiv8 would be hard pressed to carry on, so a very big thank you for the grant and the donation.

Motiv8 runs various groups throughout the week and these include walking, ten pin bowling, bingo, swimming, gentle exercise, snooker/pool and fishing. We are hoping to run a gardening group starting at the end of January and anyone wishing to attend any of these groups please contact us on the telephone number or email address provided.
